It seems that history has repeated itself despite my best intermediary efforts:

Tragic Irony:

1. My wife being more excited about the American Idle Idol finale than she was about the 24 Finale; and being more disappointed that the former had ended for another season than the latter.

2. A few weeks prior, finding her more disappointed that the Mavs had been defeated in the first round of the playoffs than that the Rockets had.

There has been a disturbance in the force, and its effects are still being felt.
