The Lord is bigger than we could Imagine

The Lord is bigger than we could imagine. Nothing can contain him. As Solomon confessed when he was preparing to build the temple, "who is able to build him a house, since heaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a house for him, except as a place to make offerings before him?" (2 Chron 2:6). Solomon knew that God was great, and that is why he knew that the temple needed to be the greatest thing that anybody had ever seen before. It had to reflect the greatness of God. God is greater than all other gods, and will not even fit in the vast universe that he created.

A temple could not contain all that he is, nor could a body! When the Word became flesh, that body could not contain all that the Son of God was any more than a temple could. Even so, God chose to let his presence dwell with men in the temple, walk among men in the incarnation, and dwell within men with the gift of the Spirit. What a staggering truth.

Know that the God who is "greater than all gods" has deigned to commune with his people. If you are in Christ, you are in a relationship that defies the laws of logic.

Live accordingly by making your "offerings" before him alone.
