One Great Thing

A few weeks ago, I read in a commentary by a 17th century particular baptist, the following phrase:

The fox knows many things, the Hedgehog knows one great thing.

Which logically led me to the question, What "one great thing" does the hedgehog know?

I'm still mulling this one over.
