10 Questions Every Teen Should Ask (and Answer) about Christianity by Rebecca McLaughlin (Crossway, 2021).
Rebecca McLaughlin is a Christian apologist with a PhD in Renaissance literature from Cambridge. In her writing ministry, she works to bridge intellectual rigor with accessible defense of the faith. Her 2019 book, Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion took on some of the hardest challenges people throw at the faith, things like science, suffering, and sexuality.
In 10 Questions Every Teen Should Ask (and Answer) about Christianity, she takes that same approach but speaks straight to teens. Instead of sugarcoating, McLaughlin dives right into the real stuff teens face: “Doesn’t science disprove Christianity?” “Isn’t Christianity homophobic?” “How can you believe something that isn’t true for everyone?”
The book addresses core questions about science, gender, sexuality, diversity, truth, and justice. These are the realities that shape young people’s everyday lives. Each chapter is fast-paced, story-driven, and embedded with ideas to help young readers think clearly about what they believe and why.
As a companion to Confronting Christianity, this volume adapts its apologetic vision for younger readers. Together, the two works represent McLaughlin’s broader project: encouraging Christians of every age to engage hard questions honestly and to see that Christian faith offers not only intellectually credible answers but also a compelling vision of love, justice, and meaning.
Both books send the same message: Christianity isn’t scared of big questions. In fact, when you lean in and wrestle with them, you’ll find that faith in Jesus makes more sense and more of a difference than you ever expected.
